A-Level students from Larkmead, St Brinius, St Helen and St Katharine, John Mason and Fitzharrys schools were treated to an entertaining, insightful talk from BBC Arts Editor, Will Gompertz recently.
Larkmead organised the event through the Speakers for Schools programme, which provides schools with talks from industry-leading figures.
Andrea Phillips, Head of Visual Performance Arts said:
“This was an amazing opportunity for our students. Will is an extremely engaging and inspirational speaker, relating his own experiences to; the changing world of work, the Arts and the importance of self- belief. We were delighted that Speakers for Schools suggested Will. Our students found his talk informative and thought provoking’.
Whilst the event was originally organised for Larkmead students, we felt that other schools with students studying English, Media and Arts based subjects may also wish to participate, so we decided to invite them along. Will was very approachable and down to earth and really inspired the students.”
